
Nimra Shahzad
Policy Intern
Nimra Shahzad graduated from the University of Houston Honors College with a Bachelor’s in Political Science. In her senior year, she interned at Emgage, a non-partisan Muslim-American civic advocacy organization that seeks to educate, mobilize, and empower the South Asian and Muslim communities. She excelled in voter education and registration in the Greater Houston Area. She also interned for the Harris County Commissioners Court Analyst’s Office during the summer. She assisted in quantitative research and data analysis to produce objective and timely policy memos. On the side, Nimra has been studying Arabic for the last few years. She is also a Houston Rodeo Scholar. Some of Nimra’s hobbies are reading, exercising, and daydreaming. Nimra aspires to be a policy or data analyst and make sense of complex data.
