Health Providers in India Need Your Help – WTEP & Jhpiego

We had a great conversation with Jhpiego and Heidi Murkoff (Founder, What to Expect Project; Author, What to Expect When You’re Expecting; Creator, What To Expect) about the maternal and child health crisis in India during the COVID-19 pandemic and how pregnant women and moms are managing. Maternal health is first to be put on hold in times of public health crisis, whether the pandemic we’re facing now, the Ebola epidemic we faced in West Africa, a natural disaster or famine, or a man-made conflict that hurts women and children most of all – this must be changed.

Maternal health is the foundation of all health and we can’t afford to not prioritize the crucial care mothers and babies in India, the Middle East, the U.S. or anywhere else in the world, need for healthy pregnancies, safe births and healthy futures. The single best investment we can make in public health is #maternalhealth, and we won’t stop until every mom, everywhere gets the support and care she needs-no matter where she lives, no matter her race or ethnicity, no matter her socioeconomic reality, no matter what her challenges.
